Cherry Bird

Quick post and color up today!  This image comes to you from Bugaboo Digi Stamps called Cherry Bird.  She's a cutie and would be perfect for a card for a super cool friend- I will have to see if I have any paper that could really make this image shine (Who am I kidding?  I probably do!! He! He!)!

*On a side note, I am still sticking with my "I will not buy any new paper this year" New Year's Resolution!  It is absolutely one of the hardest things I have EVER done- especially when there is so much cuteness out there just begging for me to get a hold of it and create!

Deep breath...I have beautiful paper here and perfectly acceptable for a card...

All I have to say is come December- Watch Out Santa!  My list is gonna be huge!)

I digress...Here are the Copics used on this image:
Bird: B24, 01, W2, 0
Hat, Glasses, Butterfly: C10,8,7,6,5,1, R27, 24, Y38, 15 (White Gell Pen)

Lulu Loves Poppies- The Finished Product

Recently, I have been working on the 30 Day Color Challenge found here.  I love this time because it forces me to do something I loooove and get a ton of coloring done!)  This colored image was shown at a previous post for the 30 Day Challenge, but the finished product was not.  I needed a card for my sister's bridal shower, but wanted something non traditional- I think this is it!

Copic Colors Used
Her hair has black gel pen on it.  The flower in her hair with the pearl and the pearls on the card are all Queen and Co.  The papers... OOHHHHH THE PAPERS!! They are from the delicious 6x6 stack from MME called Sunshine.  The black flower centers on her shoes are black pearl pen.  The ribbon in actually flipped upside down (the other side says "bloom" with bright yellow flowers- definitely not right for this card)- it was in my scrap ribbon pile.  The centers of the flowers have gold Stickles on them with black gel pen dots.  I love her and needless to say, it's perfect for my sister too!)

I could have put a sentiment on it, but for everything I tried nothing worked.  Finally, I asked my husband what he thought and he said, "Why does it need a sentiment?  It looks fine the way it is."  I tell you that guy is a genius!)

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly- Trio-Tastic (ribbon, pearls and a Copic colored image)
Simon Says Stamp- Wednesday Challenge- Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday- Challenge #379- Stars and/or Stripes
Seven Kids College Fund- Challenge #128- Anything Goes

30 Day Coloring Challenge- Day 24

A quick post today... I have a folder with images that have been stamped and/or printed and are ready to color.  While I've colored her before, it has been a while. This cutie is from Lili of the Valley Rubber Stamps.  I don't see her on their site anymore, but perhaps you might find something else to suit your fancy!  I think I'm going to cut her out using circle dies and mount her on an easel card (stay tuned!).

Here are the Copics used:
Dog: W6,2,0
Girl: Face E11, 00,000
Hair/ Shoes: E34,37,29

30 Day Coloring Challenge- Day 22

This weekend I carved out a bit of time to color this cute Wizardette found here over at the TiddlyInks store.  I had the markers out from my last coloring/post and fell in love with the paper I have (wait until you see that deliciousness!!!) and decided to color her similarly to the LuLu image I posted.

DISCLAIMER:   Let's just say I am not great at coloring hair...I've tried and this is a bit of an improvement from when I started Copic coloring, but for some reason it is so hard for me to get the added dimension that so many others possess in the Copic coloring world! It's a work in progress- perhaps I should leave the coloring a little lighter, I don't know...  I'm really not trained at this at all so, the practice continues...

The Copics used are shown here and the pencil you see in there is Prismacolor Sepia- ENJOY!)

30 Day Color Challenge- Day 20- LuLu Loves Poppies

I loooove this stamp!  It's called Lu Lu Loves Poppies and can be found at the Stamping Bella store.  She's not totally finished yet, but I thought I would share the process of coloring her (she still needs a little more pizzazz, but you'll have to wait for the entire card to see that!)  I stamped her twice, fussy cut the entire first image and fussy cut just the flowers on the second, added some dimension and...WALA! A super cool image!  I colored her specifically for some great paper I have!
Once the card is up I'll give more details on the image!  Enjoy!

Get Well Soon!

Hey there- two posts, one day?!  Crazy right?  This one is for a few challenges...

There are cards I create and then save for the right challenge and this one seems to fit the bill for a few this week.  This image is from Digital Delights by Looby Lou called "Heroic Henry" and can be found here.  I actually made this for someone that just had surgery- the inside says something to the affect of "I hope you get your Super Powers back real soon"!  I colored it with Copic markers (if I can find the sheet that has the colors I will edit the post later) and Stickles were used on the emblem on his chest.  The sentiment is from the Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons website found here.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
The Ribbon Girl- June Anything Goes (Masculine Project)
Loves Rubberstamps Challenge #156- Masculine Theme
Papertake Weekly- Ohhh so pretty - gotta love those Stickles:)
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Use Your Favorite Technique/ Product- I loooove Copic coloring!

Little Miss Muffet Challenge #114- Anything Goes

Howdy!

Long time no post!  Yes I am still participating in the 30 day coloring challenge, it just seems that life gets in the way...  It took me 5 days to color up 2 of these cuties!  Right now I am in the midst of Father's Day preparations, two birthday parties, my sister's wedding shower followed by her bachelorette- this summer is already exhausting and 4th of July is not even here yet!

I digress!  This is the first time I've colored up this image and sorry to say, I've had the stamp for a while!  Like I said, I use the 30 Day Challenge to do some coloring that wouldn't otherwise get done and try out some new stamps (err... old ones...).  The image is from the Nellie Snellen Young Rebel series called Revolver Hero.  I purchased it at my local stamp store soooo you might have to Google it.  He turned out SUPER cute!  I can't wait to put this together on a card!

Here are the Copic colors I used:

Terrier Love

This card image comes to you from Tiddlyinks.  The image can be found here and it is FREE!  Head on over, because I know once you're there, you'll find at least a hand full of  other images you "need"- lol!!

I think this is one of my most favorite color combinations- black, white and red!  The sentiment is from Stampabilities and the image was colored with Copics.  I actually used my black glaze pen and white Jelly Roll pen on their snouts and eyes.  A little Xmas Red Stickles was used on her collar.  The paper is from a Teresa Collins 6x6 paper pad called "Christmas Home", a few red gems from studio 18 and some red and white baker's twine round out the card:)  Hope you enjoy it!

Copics Used:

30 Day Color Challenge- Day7

Same image as yesterday, but a little different.  I was inspired by this post.  The idea was to think out of the box when coloring a particular image.  Yesterday's tulips were red, today's multi-colored.   I'm going to cut this image out so no worries on the pot that was colored outside the lines!  Enjoy!

Copics Used:
Flowers: R8,17,27,29,89

V04,15,17 Prismacolor: Violet

30 Day Color Challenge- Day 5!

Soooo, it took me two days to color this image- I really took my time getting the shading right!  This is another of Sandy Allnock's images from her EduDigi Series found here.  Copic reds can be tough to use, but I've been playing around with Copics for a few years now and have a pretty good handle on it.  I'm really taking this 30 day challenge to practice shading.  If you notice, the flower pot lines have been colored over- I am cutting this entire image out, so it really won't matter.

Here's the Copic colors used:
Flowers:  R8,17,27,29,89
Greenery:  YG 45,67,G07
Flower Pot:  W2,3,5

Have a Super Day! (Da, da, da, daaaa!)

Good morning everyone!  Posting a card today with a SUPER sweet image from Digital Delights by Looby Lou called Captian Colin found here.   The sentiment is also from Pretty Paper Graphics found here.  Colored him up with Copics and used Stickles in the center of the shield and helmet.  I also popped the sentiment with a little bit of adhesive foam.  Those papers??? Ummm,,, Hmmm...  I can't quite remember- if I do I'll edit the post later...

30 Day Color Challenge- Day 2

I colored these beauties up yesterday.  They are another of the digital stamps in Sandy Allnock's EduDigi series- you can find it here.  In the perfect world, I would have every Copic marker and all would be well in the universe!  Alas, I do not and had to put my thinking cap on as to how to get a little more dimension and shading... enter my trusty Prisacolor Pencils!  Sometimes when I can't control the shading on an image or don't have all the markers I need, I turn to the pencils.  If you zoom in on the image, I wrote out all the colors that I used.  For the stamen of the flowers I used my black Glaze pen (on the dark purple flowers I don't know why the middle flower is coming out with white on it...I think it might have to do with the lighting)...but now looking at it, maybe I'll add little white dots to the inside edges- it doesn't look that bad!  Kinda looks like pollen...Yes!  That's it! It's pollen!!

I absolutely LOOOOVE the way they came out and am looking forward to using them on a card- stay tuned...

It's here...!

It's here and I am super stoked!  The 30 Day Coloring Challenge!  Haven't heard about it?  You've got to check out Kathy's daily blog here.  I really enjoyed the last time I took the challenge- granted I didn't color every day for 30 days, but I did get quite a bit of coloring done.   All the challenge "rules" are on her blog and I use the word "rules" lightly- you do what you need to do.  I liked this challenge because A.) It forced me to carve out time in my day to do what I love (it was like there was a little Copic marker on my shoulder reminding me that the challenge was in effect) and B.) I really did get quite a few images colored and now when I need to create a card I can just go pull an image- sweet right?

I'm going to lead off with this card that I made- With Sympathy.  Aughhh, I hate making sympathy cards, but they are essential and I never seem to have one on hand when I need it, SOOOO I whipped up three of them!  The digital image is from Sandy Allnock's digital image series called EduDigi- you can find that here.  She actually has them ON SALE (use code 30DAY2)!!!  Totally worth it- you thought you knew everything about Copic markers?  Been coloring awhile and aren't sure it is for you?  WRONG!  It's totally worth it!

These flowers are really beautiful and the layout on this card has been kept quite simple.

Copics Used:
Flower (inside) Y2,6,17,V25
Flower (outside) Y2,8,BV01
Stems YG95,G99
Flower Pot E35,39,18

I'd like to enter this into the following challenge:
